Warehouse Solutions in Los Angeles
Finding the right design partner is key to meeting your warehousing and distribution goals.
You need a partner with the expertise to maximize your space and efficiency. Polymatic Solutions has ample experience optimizing warehouse layouts and processes for companies of all sizes. We take the time to understand your unique business needs and customize a solution.
A good warehouse design uses every inch of available space efficiently. We analyze inventory levels, order profiles, and growth projections to design storage methods like pallet racking, mezzanines, and vertical space utilization. We also optimize workflow by positioning high-velocity pick and pack areas close to shipping docks while using vertical space for slower-moving items.
In addition to storage, we also design efficient warehouse layouts that improve productivity and safety. Our team performs detailed simulations of traffic patterns and material flows. We can then adjust aisle widths, add safety lines or mirrors, and design ergonomic workstations. Optimizing the flow of people and products through your facility is key to maximizing throughput.
Polymatic Solutions creates efficient distribution and fulfillment centers by uncovering opportunities to elevate speed and accuracy. Our design solutions scale with your operations.
Selective pallet racks, or single-deep racks, allow easy access to every pallet. They are one of the most common systems and provide flexibility in warehouse operations. Pallets are stored one deep with multiple racks positioned next to each other. Forklifts can directly access any pallet without having to move others.
Push-back pallet racks store pallets multiple deep on wheeled carts or rails. When a pallet is loaded, it pushes back the other pallets behind it. This allows higher-density storage while still providing accessibility. The carts allow easy first-in-first-out inventory management.
With double deep pallet racks, two pallets can be stored end to end in each bay. The rear pallet must be accessed first using a forklift to remove the front pallet. This system increases storage capacity while decreasing selectivity. It works well for products with lower turnover.
Pallet flow racks use gravity rollers or tracks that allow loaded pallets to flow to the pick face on a first-in-first-out basis. When a pallet is removed, the others behind it move forward. This improves inventory tracking and rotation.
Pallet shuttle systems utilize shuttles that run on rails within each bay, allowing storage of pallets up to 30 pallets deep. Shuttles can operate in both LIFO and FIFO modes. The shuttle retrieves the requested pallet and delivers it to the access point. This maximizes density while maintaining accessibility.
Drive-in pallet racks allow forklifts to drive into narrow bay openings and place pallets on rails. Pallets are stored multiple deep, requiring last-in-first-out inventory management. Drive-in racks maximize storage density but have lower selectivity.
Carton flow racks use gravity rollers or wheeled carts to automatically move cartons loaded in the back to the pick face at the front. When a carton is picked, the others behind flow forward. This improves organization and inventory control.
Conventional pallet rack solutions offer warehouses and distribution centers an efficient and customizable storage system. The adjustable beam levels allow facilities to accommodate various pallet sizes and heights. Pallet rack components enable facilities to design storage layouts tailored to their inventory and operational needs. The steel construction provides strength and durability to safely support pallet loads.
Polymatic can help you find pallet racks that are easy to install, reconfigure, and expand as operations evolve. The advantages of our racks include:
Work with Polymatic Solutions to design an efficient, cost-effective warehouse for your unique needs and inventory. Our custom approach optimizes workflow and storage capacity so you can maximize productivity.
High-density storage boosts cubic capacity, but it also introduces potential safety hazards. Our engineers optimize density using narrow aisle pallet flow and drive-in racking combined with pedestrian pathways and redundant warning systems.
We balance density goals with safety requirements established by organizations like FM Global and NFPA. Strict compliance with local fire codes is also ensured during design.
Depending on your needs and budget, we offer conventional, mechanized, and fully automated high-density storage options. Our conventional solutions use adjustable pallet racks, carton flow, and lift enhancements. We incorporate AS/RS cranes, A-frames, conveyors, pick modules, and sorters for semi-automated systems.
For cutting-edge automation, we design and integrate robotic shuttles, mini-load AS/RS, vertical lift modules (VLMs), vertical carousels, and goods-to-person picking systems. This boosts accuracy and efficiency.
Polymatic believes in your vision. Your creativity informs every aspect of our design-build services. We’ll bring your ideal distribution or fulfillment center to fruition with tailored solutions that enhance workflows.
